Old age sure is interesting...

So! Attempt to get "Bertha" halfway clean, scrub up the girls & myself, load up and head toward my cousins house for the birthday party. First, I get lost in the 'hood.' I'm cruising all around the 'hood' looking for his house. I've only been there once before and theirs is one of the few which is finished. Everything else is construction.

I drive by this certain house which I really thought was it but there are no cars, no peoples, no nothing. Keep searching. Call my parents house cause I had left the invitation at home; of course. Call the sister of the cousin in which I seek cause she's the only cell phone number I have in my cell phone. Leave her a message about being lost in the subdivision blah, blah, blah. Go back by that same house again and there's this man beside the garage that REALLY looks like my cousin. That smilie at the beginning is supposed to be in this spot. *slapping forehead*

The cobwebs in me head start spinning and I'm thinking....that really looked like Johnny but why would he be working in the garage during a birthday party. Pretend the same dumbfounded looking smilie is in this spot too. I turn around and go back to this suspected house. When close realize it IS Johnny and pull into the driveway. He walks over, hey, how ya doin' yadda yadda yadda....and then goes...the party is tomorrow. Insert fainting and most shocked smilie.

Okay, so I had to laugh. I mean really. I've been telling EVERYONE that we're going to the party Saturday; everyone. Even posted on here last night. That's the story of my life though. Always a day late (or early) and a dollar short. ;-)

So....got my females in my ride and figure it's time for us girls to go shopping. They've been wanting to go to Build A Bear for a while to add to their evergrowing collection. Mind you, the only Build A Bear is WAY away but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. Here we go. Finally get there and find somewhere to park "Bertha" which is no easy feat at Crabtree Mall. We waddle into the mall, each of us carrying a "hocketbook" of course. Jenna called pocketbooks "hocketbooks" when she was little and it stuck.

Jenna picks out a rabbit and Barbie chooses a pink cat. Princess cat it's called. Of course... They do the little dance & jig to "build" them and off we go to "blow them off" and comb them. Well, ya know, a cat and a rabbit MUST have clothes to wear. Barbie picks out a pink sequin top and a pink skirt to go on her pink cat. Ya know the cat has to have shoes. Pink flipflops are added. Jenna's rabbit is carefully dressed in a jean skirt and yellow print top complete with a brown belt. You do realize of course that a rabbit who wears clothes MUST have a cell phone in order to call all her rabbit friends to inform them of her new outfit. Since the rabbit got a phone you know the cat HAD to have a phone as well. $89 later we leave Build A Bear. My new grandchildren are "Polly" (cat) and "Rosabella" (rabbit).

We wander around a little bit and head on out. Phone rings. Son #1 says the lights have been out over an hour and they aren't expected to be on till 8:30. In no hurry to go home to a hot house we go downtown Raleigh to Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Tis for the good of the family of course. Phone is steady ringing one person or another from the time we leave the mall. Get home and load up the rest of the brood and head back to Zebulon. Some want Pizza Hut, parents want Subway, gotta get something at Food Lion.... Come back home and the lights are on. Very glad since my other half goes beserck if they so much as blink much less stay out for hours. We picked a good day to go to a party on the wrong day. ;-)

So....bored yet? It's 9:19 p.m. Early for this household. Forgot to mention son #1 hanging out of the moonroof, sunroof, or whatever that thing is in the front of "Bertha" on the way home. Oh yea, we're high class folks.

How close are you to a BAB Dana? Brooklyn simply must go. The girls & myself will have to fly over your way and join ya. ;-)
